Thank you for considering Central Hydraulic Loaders Ltd. We were formed in 1995 and fast became the UK’s leading Specialist in all aspects of Truck Mounted cranes.
Many people ask us how we got into this industry. Quite simply put- it was by accident! In the mid 1980’s our MD Tracie took a temporary position as a receptionist in a Truck Mounted Crane Company. From that very first moment she was fascinated by cranes and their functionality and was eager to sell the Cranes, and quickly became a competent operator.
As you might imagine, anyone who has lived in the misogynous era of 1980’s will understand how sceptical the sector was that a 22-year-old woman was going to have any success in the Crane Trade. However, they hadn’t bargained for the support and expertise of two amazing engineers who offered Tracie brilliant and practical engineering skills that we still rely on today. They also hadn’t considered Tracie’s own passion, desire and competence to be the very best in her chosen career. Attributes that have helped her drive the business forward.
When formal qualifications became available Tracie become a fully qualified Operator and then ALLMI Inspector and Tester.

CHL Was Established
In 1995 with the same two engineers and two key personnel, Central Hydraulic Loaders was born. Initially our focus was on service work and we had to work hard to prove ourselves and gain credibility. For the first few years it was a non-stop service, 7 days a week, but it enabled us to build our reputation for reliability and quality.
We managed to get in on the ground floor with a new product to the UK, PM Cranes and now after 30 years we are one of their biggest dealers in the world. It is no secret that we have greatly contributed to their unprecedented growth in the UK over the last twenty five years.

With 25 staff, we are not the biggest company in this sector, but we like to think we have one of the most highly skilled work forces in this market. Every single one of our staff represent the very best in their individual trade, with extensive expertise. This enables us to carry out complex, flexible and high-quality builds, totally bespoke to customers’ requirements. We Individual Vehicle Approve (IVA) each individual build allowing us to identify and work to the customers exact requirements. Our company motto is “we make it work” because with our ever-expanding range of projects, we have the experience, know- how and passion to do just that!
